Finally there is the bilingual periodical “MB Yakinton”, which is published monthly. You can tell that the new generation are no longer as fluent in German from the number of pages published in German. Compared with the Hebrew section it is getting smaller and smaller. But today it remains the only publication in Israel to be published in German (although not exclusively so), after the Israel-Nachrichten folded in 2011 for financial reasons. This newspaper had the oldest working chief editor in the world in Alice Schwarz-Gardos. She originally came from Vienna and died in 2007 at the old age of 91 whilst still in employment.
